(This letter, following up on the PASSPORT TO THE KINGDOM event, was just received.)
Dear Leanna,
The staff and Board of Directors at the Potter League for Animals would like to
thank the House of Peers for your amazing fundraising efforts on our behalf. We recently
received your check for $10,264.00 representing funds raised through various raffles and
activities held at your Newport conference in October of 2009. Along with the individual
checks* you mailed and donations from Harmony Kingdom Addicts, House of Peers
raised a total of $14,000 for our homeless animals.
The generosity of the Harmony Kingdom Collectors is most admirable. Please
express our gratitude to everyone. And Leanna, your skills at raising money are not to be
believed...no once could turn you down. As discussed, the money raised from this event
will be allocated toward the campaign for our new building. Our state of the art facility is
one of the finest animal shelters in the country.
It's been said, "if you have to be a homeless animal, there's no better place to be
than the Potter League." Our new animal care center has features that strive to keep
animals physically healthy and behaviorally fit while in our care. There is no time limit
set on an animal's stay, we continue to search for the right match for all our adoptable
animals. Recently, we placed Maggie, a cat who had been with us for 9 1/2 months.
We are so honored to be the beneficiary of your fundraising efforts and are so
pleased that a beautiful bench will grace our grounds with a tribute to the Harmony
Kingdom Collectors. Thank you for being so very generous to the community of
Newport, Rhode Island and making it a more humane place for people and animals.
I hope when you are in the area you will visit us, get to sit on your bench and we
can thank you again in person for this extraordinary gift.
With deep gratitude,
Patricia Heller
Director of Development
