Dead Ringer for a
Dead Ringer Auction
Ending December 27, 1999
'Dead Ringer' -
Prototype
A charity fundraiser to
benefit the Hampshire Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue in Farnborough Hants, England began December 20, 1999 on eBay.
The HK
House of Peers, Harmony Ball Company and Martin Perry present a rare and unique
prototype of 'Dead Ringer,' a Peter
Calvesbert Treasure Jest, in HOP's fifth special charity event.
The Hampshire
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue was brought to HOP's attention by Martin
Perry and Peter Copplestone. Peter has been working with
the organization and an auxiliary organization, Bulldog
Rescue for over six years. HSBTR picks up dogs, from areas covering the
South of England, that have been mistreated or abandoned. Fifteen dedicated individuals
from both organizations rescue approximately 20 dogs per year from mistreatment and
neglect. The dogs are provided veterinary care and placed in caring, loving homes. A large
database is maintained containing names of people who are looking to care and give these
neglected dogs new homes. Each home is check for suitability before placement. The
auxiliary organization, 'Bulldog Rescue',
will receive twenty percent (20%) of the proceeds from this auction.
The auction was held on
and
ended December 27, 1999.
Harmony Kingdom Dead Ringer Prototype
CHARITY
The prototype offered in this
special holiday auction is Peter Calvesbert's 'Dead
Ringer,' specially painted by Martin Perry for this fundraiser. The
hallmarks indicate the Infinity version, but instead of Winston Churchill in the large
interior, there's the face of a very brave cat! The smaller interior is empty.
The colors on this piece are vivid, typical of
special prototype painting. Martin Perry signed and dated the base '20.11.99' (November
20, 1999), authenticating it as a Harmony Kingdom prototype.
