From Chicago O'Hare International Airport (14 miles, 28 minutes): Merge onto I-190 E. Merge onto I-294 N via EXIT 1C toward MILWAUKEE (Portions toll). Merge onto DEMPSTER ST/US-14 E. Turn LEFT onto N GREENWOOD AVE. Turn RIGHT onto W GOLF RD/IL-58. Continue to follow W GOLF RD. Turn RIGHT onto SKOKIE BLVD/US-41. 9599 SKOKIE BOULEVARD.
RESERVATION INFORMATION
Our special convention room rate of $89 per night, plus tax, available from June 20, 2011, through June 29, 2010, has been sold-out. This special rate was only available until June 4, 2011, or until the group block has been sold-out, whichever comes first. Unfortunately the group block has been sold-out.
Rooms are still available at the hotel, just not through our "HOP" room rate. They are available only at a "rack rate" which means any rate that you can get through the hotel, the Internet, etc. Don't forget to use your AARP or AAA rates, if you are members.
You can make your Fire & ICE reservation by calling the hotel directly or using the Personalized Online Group page provided by Doubletree.
To call the hotel directly, call 847-679-7000 and once you get their reservation staff, give them our 3-digit Group Code: "HOP"
If you are flying into Chicago O'Hare International Airport we have a corporate rate set up with American Taxi. The advantage is that there is no additional per person fee and no toll charges.
DO NOT get a City of Chicago taxi outside the airport baggage claim area, as fees are high. Call American Taxi at 847-259-0276, to order your cab. Mention House of Peers to get the savings. From O'Hare to the DoubleTree the cost is $30 ($26 + $2 gas surcharge (if gas drops below $4/gallon, the surcharge is removed) + $2 airport tax). From the DoubleTree to the airport the fee is $28, because there is no airport tax.
If two or three people are in one cab, it is reasonably priced. American Taxi also has vans available, if you are traveling as a large group, but you will need to call to check the pricing.
Advanced reservations are not required. You can call when you are at the airport, with your luggage in hand, 847-259-0276. Tell the operator you are with House of Peers, give the needed information (name, cell phone, airline), and the operator will tell you which door to exit out of, and what taxi number to look for.
