Prototypes, hard-to-get pieces, and much more can be in your future! You have an opportunity to win any of these items and help charity at the same time. The HK House of Peers is excited to announce our Dollar Raffle, which is open to all collectors and friends! The Dollar Raffle is one of the activities at the HOP/HK conventions used to raise money for charity.
Over 70 special raffles have been selected with almost half being prototypes or rare and hard-to-find pieces. Each raffle ticket costs $1, with the proceeds being donated to the Potter League for Animals, a charity of the local club—Atlantic Kingdom Addicts. Each raffle prize will have its own box for tickets, so you know you will only win something that you want.
Everyone can participate in the raffle, even if you are not attending the convention. If you are not attending the convention, you will be responsible for paying the cost of shipping, for the items you win. Tickets for the Dollar Raffle were available online for advance sales. Tickets will also be available on Friday and Saturday (October 30–31) at the event. Collectors who are not attending the event must have identified which raffles they wanted to enter (and how many tickets should go into each raffle box). Online tickets sales ended October 18, 2009.
Event attendees could have ordered tickets in advance and have them waiting at HOP Central where the raffle tickets are sold. For attendees, you can also participate in the Friday night Casino Charity Night and trade your winnings in for raffle tickets. Pictures of the prizes along with the ticket boxes will be on display Friday night. At the Halloween Party on Saturday night, the prizes themselves will be on display. This will be your final opportunity to place your tickets in the boxes you desire.
Tickets purchased before the event will be combined with those purchased at the event. The drawing will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009, after the Halloween Costume Contest.

Mice Playing Pool Vignette from Day of the Dead
Purchased by Lisa and Noel on their first visit to Mexico for the Day of the Dead celebration in November 1988, when it all began. They spent four weeks traveling throughout central and southern Mexico, purchasing handicrafts, and then selling them to ethnographic stores and in flea markets throughout the US. This was prior to the formation of Harmony Ball, which was officially incorporated in 1991.
